Matsapha – As we begin the year 2024, Council remains committed to providing quality services to the ratepayers and stakeholders of the town, maintaining the status of the town as a viable place for people to conduct business and live in. Matsapha is known as the Kingdom’s Investment Hub and as such, Council provides several affordable services to the business and residential areas within the town of Matsapha. A detailed description of these services is as follows:
- Outdoor Advertising Services
Council offers Outdoor advertising services and all applications for this service are evaluated and approved by Council. The following items are considered during the evaluation and approval process:
- The size of the space required by the applicant
- The type of platform required by the applicant
- The date and duration of the placement
- The type of business and location required by the applicant
- The availability of space on the platform
- The capacity of the applicant to pay for the space required
- The payment history of the applicant if is a repeat client
- Skip Rental Services
Council also provides skip rental services to companies or individuals who require to dispose of large quantities of waste.
- Landfill Disposal Services
Matsapha Town Council offers landfill disposal services for clients who need to dispose of waste that is in large quantities. To access this service, a filled application form has to be delivered to Council with payment of the stipulated fees. This form is available on Council’s website.
- Incinerator Services
In addition, Council also offers incinerator services for the safe disposal of medical waste in the town of Matsapha.
- Nursery
To promote the preservation of the environment through the plantation of trees and plants, Council has a nursery where affordable trees and plants are sold. The nursery is located along Airport Road in Matsapha.

A CALL FOR THE REMOVAL/TRIMMING VEGETATION OVERGROWTH WITHIN PRIVATE PROPERTIES
Matsapha Town Council calls upon all property owners whose properties have overgrown vegetation to clear these properties within seven days from the date of this notice, and further clear them regularly to prevent accompanying environmental health effects. Overgrown vegetation is identified as a nuisance in terms of the Public Health Act of 1969 section 11 (d), (n), and (t). You are also advised that overgrown vegetation promotes:
- Harbouring of criminals and promotion of crime
- The invasion of rodents, snakes, mosquitoes, etc.
- Illegal dumping
- Invasive plant species (Sandanezwe)
- Degradation of the town’s aesthetics.
Failure to comply with this notice, the Local authority will have no option but to clear these properties at a cost that will be recovered from the individual property owners. Continued failure to comply will result in Council taking legal action against the property owners.
Matsapha Town Council shall not be held responsible for any damages incurred on valuable species that may have been intentionally kept by the property owner.
