28 June 20230

Matsapha – In compliance with this year’s World Food Safety Day Theme “Food Standards Saves Lives”, Council through the Environmental Health & Community Services Department conducted a three-day Food Hygiene and Safety Training, which began on the 20th – 22nd of June 2023. This training aimed to equip 140 food business personnel with the latest food hygiene and safety standards.

To facilitate the training, Council invited experts from the Ministry of Agriculture (Veterinary and Livestock Department) and as well as the Eswatini Standards Authority who emphasized the importance of following the rules and regulations in relation to the handling of food. To ensure that there is food safety and hygiene in the town, Council regularly conducts food outlets inspections as well as seizures and condemnation of unwholesome food items.
