Matsapha – On the 8th of July 2022, Matsapha Town Council successfully hosted the Matsapha Business Forum/Indaba under the theme “Growing Matsapha Together”. This forum aimed to provide Council and the business community of Matsapha with the opportunity to discuss a number of issues related to the local economic development of the town and the progress that has been made by Council in its implementation of the Integrated Development Plan.
The forum was officially opened by the Vice–Chairperson of Council, Councillor Stephen Khumalo who commended all the stakeholders who were present in the forum for taking their time to engage with Council. He further encouraged stakeholders to continue participating in issues related to the development of Matsapha. “In our operations as Council, we are guided by a set of principles and values that ensures that we always remain professional and ethical as we continue to deliver services to the community of Matsapha. One of those values requires Council to encourage active participation by all stakeholders of the town to ensure that they are well aware of the activities and initiatives of Council”, he said.
To date, the town of Matsapha has over 720 operational businesses that create employment opportunities for thousands of Emaswati. Through such initiatives as the business forum, Council with the stakeholders of the town continues to find other avenues of ensuring that the town has a safe environment for all to conduct their businesses which would contribute immensely to the economy of the town and the country at large.
