Matsapha – As part of the management of waste in the town of Matsapha, Council would like to notify property owners, developers, and contractors within the town that the disposal of rubble is accepted at the Matsapha Landfill. This service is limited to the above-mentioned stakeholders of the town. Council would like to encourage the community of Matsapha to refrain from the illegal dumping of waste as it is a criminal offense. Any rubble waste material not from within the boundaries of Matsapha will not be accepted.
RECOVERY OF ARREAR RATES 2023/2024
As the 2023/2024 financial year draws to a close, Council would like to remind ratepayers within the town of Matsapha to clear their outstanding rates before the 31st March 2024. Council has a wide variety of payment methods that are conducive for ratepayers to easily pay their rates.
MODES OF PAYMENT
- Cash paid over the counter at Council’s revenue office
- Swiping debit or credit cards at the Municipality’s revenue office
- Making an Electronic Transfer to any of Council’s bank accounts.
- Payments made into Council’s MOMO account.
Ratepayers are reminded to use their rates Account Number as a reference whenever making an electronic transfer. The proof of payment should be e-mailed to accountantincome@matsapha.co.sz. Council’s banking details are printed on rates bills.

MTC’S KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER INITIATIVE
To improve communication between Council and Ratepayers, Council through the Town Treasury department is currently implementing a Know Your Customer Initiative. This initiative aims to update the Ratepayer’s contact details to ensure that any form of communication from Council is on time. This could include the sharing of statements to ratepayers by Council through the preferred communications mode by ratepayers. Ratepayers can update their details online through Council’s website at www.matsapha.co.sz.
