Matsapha Town Council conducted courtesy visit and donated food supplies to two Charity Homes within Matsapha urban space, on the 24th of March 2020. The visit was conducted by Councillor Steven Motsa, who was representing the Matsapha Chairperson, Councillor Alice Russo and the Town Clerk, Lucky Sukati. The two Charity homes visited was the Chesire Home and Hospice at Home.
The items donated were food supplies including rice, beans and cooking oil. Councillor Motsa, addressing both representatives at their Charity homes, highlighted that with the current events of the growing global pandemic of the Coronavirus, the visit was important to help bring hope to both facilities that do remarkable work with the small food contribution. He added that both these homes are a light of Matsapha as they provide palliative and disability care at their best despite certain challenges that they may face to keep the homes available and functioning.
Khabo Dlamini extended her gratitude on behalf of Chesire Home and added that the contribution was made timely, as they were losing funding due to the global pandemic caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.
Zodwa Gamedze from Hospice at Home expressed that there are a number of glaring social issues they see as a home and therefore greatly appreciated the contribution as it would go a long way towards helping the home.
