Matsapha Town Council in collaboration with the Road Safety Council reconvened impounding in Matsapha in pursuit of clearing all stray animals found in Matsapha. The Municipality has taken upon itself to ensure that all road users and residents of Matsapha continue to be safe from animals or any obstruction on the road by impounding any animals straying or grazing in Town. This reaffirms Council’s stance on safeguarding safety of all civilians in Matsapha and also ensuring that any complaints filed by the Matsapha community are well addressed.
From the time that this activity started, Council has been able to impound 99 cattle, which were found roaming around the streets of Matsapha.
A stern warning is sent out to all livestock owners in and around Town to refrain from grazing in Town’s urban boundary. Any livestock found grazing in Matsapha will be impounded as per Urban Government Regulations of 1969 with a fine and severe fine from repeat offenders. Council urges residents to assist with notifying them if any animals are seen around Town by contacting 79636348 to report the location of the stray herd.
