Matsapha business people and residents were warned against a popular growing scam. This was during a crime prevention forum which is an annual event hosted by Matsapha Town Council in collaboration with Royal Swaziland Police themed “Business Against Crime”. The event took place on the 12th June 2018, at the Matsapha Town Council Meeting Hall.
The aim of the forum was to engage all organizations in Matsapha and residential areas to curb crime in the town. The forum was also aimed at synchronizing community safety initiatives and promoting development of Matsapha by ensuring safer environments and access to high quality services. By coordinating efforts and mobilising people and resources towards a common vision, the forum seeks to develop crime prevention interventions often cited as a model for municipal development.
In attendance were about 100 stakeholders who benefited from the programme for the day. Discussions during the forum were around topics involving fraud, crime prevention, cybercrime in the Police force and how they can better assist the municipality in alleviating crime in the Town.
