Congratulations to all the lucky Matsapha Rate Payers, who won great prizes from the Matsapha Town Council Pay Your Rates and Win competition. The competition called for all Matsapha rate payers to pay their rates in full by 30 June 2019. This is the second time Matsapha Town Council has held the competition.
On the 10th of July 2019, Matsapha Town Council held the competitions draw at the Matsapha Town Council Meeting Hall. The event was attended by the media and representation from the Ratepayers Association. The actually drawing of names was facilitated by Dr Comfort Shongwe, a representative from the Ratepayers Association. Rate payers that stood a chance of winning were both from Industrial and Residential plots.
Council has 1.8million rate payers and out of that group 400 rate payers were able to pay their rates in full by the 30th of June. Matsapha Town Council Town Clerk, Lucky Sukati, expressed how pleased he was by the number of people that were able to pay their rates in full. In his remarks Sukati reminded the rate payers of the significant contribution the rates collection have on the town’s development. By the 30th of June 2019 Matsapha Town Council has collected E15 578 583 from Private Rates which shows a great improvement from last year’s collection of E 11 989 352.
