Matsapha – On Thursday, 25 January 2024, the Honourable Minister of Housing & Urban Development, Hon – Apollo Maphalala made his first official visit to the town of Matsapha to familiarize himself with the operations and projects being implemented by Matsapha Town Council. During this visit, the Honorable Minister was accompanied by a technical team from the Ministry of Housing & Urban Development, the Manzini Regional Administrator, and the Kwaluseni Indvuna yeNkhundla.
In his welcome remarks, the Honourable Mayor of Matsapha commended the Minister for taking the time to visit the various municipalities within the country and further stated that the Ministry of Housing & Urban Development plays a pivotal role in driving progress, fostering innovation, and enhancing the quality of work carried out by municipalities in Eswatini.
During the visit, the Honourable Minister was taken through a presentation and a tour of Matsapha, wherein Council was able to showcase several projects that are central to the development of the town. The Honourable Minister stated in his remarks that the Ministry is committed to assisting Council resolve some of the developmental challenges faced by the town, and further encouraged Council to continue working hard in delivering quality services to the respective stakeholders and the town.
