Installed signs to limit accidents

Amid the pandemic that has forced national adjustments in operations, Matsapha Town Council has strived to continue providing services to Matsapha Ratepayers. Operations by no doubt have been affected however much has been done in the roads of the town. This has been done to help better manage traffic flow and curb traffic accidents.

Installation of Road Signs

Road signs around town have been installed in the following areas Airport RD, Police College RD, 1st Street, King Mswati III West (near the old CTM) and 5th Avenue. The signs will help control traffic movement in the town. Traffic users are requested to follow the signs accordingly to help avoid accidents and breaking traffic laws, which could have negative implications.

Road Marking

Road marking is ongoing around the town, you may notice that a number of the roads have already been marked, such as 1st Street, Police College RD and 7th Street. Since we well within the dry season, Council is working on marking all roads within the urban space.

Pothole Patching

Much progress has been made to patch a number of potholes around town. More potholes are yet to be patched.

Vegetation Clearing & Overgrown Plots

Bush clearing has also been done around town and more areas are yet to be cleared. Council has taken the initiative to clear out one particular plot that was harbouring thieves due to the density of the vegetation, to ensure safety of residents. Owners of overgrown plots have been notified to clear their plots and are encouraged to do so as stipulated in their notifications.
