The Matsapha Town Council Mobile Clinic, commonly known in the community as ‘Kubambisana Nemphilo Yemmango”, in the month of October was able provide free health services to over 1 000 factory employees.
The mobile clinic services is an initiative between Matsapha Town Council, CONCO, The United Sates Government and now The Luke Commission. The overall aim of the initiative is to reduce new HIV and TB infections among the 15 to 49 years populace of Matsapha and increase the workforce health and productivity. The main station points for the mobile clinic are in the urban boundary, specifically opposite the Esigodvweni Royal Eswatini Police Station and the outskirts of the town, at Mhlaleni. The operating hours are from 2pm – 8pm latest aiming to reach more people with health services.
The mobile clinic also offers Business wellness outreaches, which are scheduled visitations to companies in Matsapha where in the month of October contributed to the thousands of people being reached.
A total of 38 medical services can be accessed from this community health platform. Some of these services include medical consultation, vision screening, hearing screening, blood pressure screening, family planning services, HIV testing, PrEP initiation and ART initiation, counseling, TB screening, disability assessment and dispensing of medications.
