Engineering & Town Planning

The Engineering and Town Planning Department is the cornerstone of Matsapha Town Council’s drive to create a well-planned, modern, and sustainable urban environment. Through strategic design, infrastructure development, and spatial planning, the department ensures that Matsapha grows in a manner that is orderly, functional, and responsive to the needs of both residents and investors. Its work underpins the Council’s vision of positioning Matsapha as a thriving industrial and residential hub that offers quality services, promotes economic growth, and enhances the quality of life for all stakeholders.

The department is made up of two interconnected units namely, Public Works unit and the Town Planning unit. Together these units enable Council to go beyond infrastructure development and maintenance to ensure that all infrastructure systems; roads, stormwater drainage, street lighting, and public facilities, are aligned with the town’s economic growth agenda and long-term resilience goals.
